4 weeks old
We can't believe our little sweetie is 4 weeks old already. Miss Ellie Rae continues to be an amazingly easy going baby. She is fantastic!!! We feel so lucky. She seems to be growing bigger and had become more alert. When awake she has begun visually expecting her surroundings.
Big brother Kellen is having a little delayed reaction to our new addition. He has been having trouble sleeping. He comes out of his room frequently after we lay him down and also wakes during the night and wants to climb into mommy and daddys bed. Obviously this is NOT ideal. We are hoping that he just needs a little time to adjust to the changes. Austin also switched from a research rotation (lots of time at home) to a more demanding rotation. We think Kellen may be missing daddy too.

She's Here
Elizabeth 'Ellie' Rae Crow was born on 6-03-2012.
8lbs 3oz 21 inches
She is the sweetest little girl. She has fit into our little family perfectly. It is amazing how it feels like she has been here all along. Kellen has been adjusting well. He has had the occasional moment where he wants the parent of choice to set her down and play with him, we definitely expected that. We have been very lucky to have lots of visitors who have made a point to make Kellen feel special.
Ellie has been a dream so far. She loves to be held in any position, doesn't mind being set down and wakes 2 times a night to eat. She has a beautiful head of light red hair and the cutest little nose and lips. We are pretty crazy about her.
First picture
Kellen took part in a little sparkling grape juice to toast his baby sister's arrival!
Kellen meeting his new sister for the first time, he was very eager to hold her.
I am realize I am a little biased but these two are pretty darn cute!!!

Out of the mouth of a toddler
After a day full of funny comments and one liners I thought it would be a good idea to document a few of my favorite Kellen comments for the week.
-While driving in the car Kellen decided to share the following "cows make the big poopies."
-After I finished vacuuming the kitchen Kellen stated "good job with the vacuum mommy."
-At the beginning of a bug hunt walk Kellen in a sing songy voice said "oh ants, where are you?" Poor ants! Kellen has not yet mastered the gentle pick up. He prefers to pinch the ants between his thumb and first finger and bring them very close to hs eye for a full examination.
-"mommy has a big butt." ENOUGH SAID!
-When I asked Kellen what his bath soap smelled like he replied with the following "it smells like corn, beef sticks, lots of chips and guacamole, apples and watermelon."
-Kellen wanted to pull the wagon home from the park this weekend. While pulling the wagon he told us "kellen's gonna pull baby _____ in the wagon."
-At the dinner table one night Kellen noticed a picture hanging on the wall of two little girls warming their clothes and hands by the fire. While looking at the picture he stated "look mommy, so many butts."

Baby Update
Kellen's sign says that his baby sister has been cooking for 33.5 weeks now. We had an ultrasound on Monday and everything looks great. She appeared to have some chubby cheeks just like her Big Brother. We have the kiddos room all set up and are finishing up other odds and ends in preparation. Kellen has been sleeping in a Big Boy bed for two weeks now. It has been going great, I can't believe what a big boy he is. His morning wake-up call is the most precious thing ever. He quietly gets out of his bed and creeps into our bedroom. He usually hangs out on the side of our bed with his elbows on the mattress and his chin resting in his hands until we wake up. This past weekend mommy woke up to Kellen at his usual perch spot but instead of resting his chin on his hands waiting for me to realize he is there I wake to find him playing a game on the Ipad. I had set it on the floor next to our bed the night before after sometime bedtime reading. He just turned two and he knows how to turn on the Ipad and locate his favorite transportation identifying game. It was absolutely hysterical!!!!
Easter
Here we are at the Helicopter Easter Egg Drop in Minnesota. This was sooooooo cool. A helicopter came through and dropped 10,000 eggs onto 4 fields that were already covered with Easter Eggs. Kellen and Opa were ready to hit the field once the ropes were cut. Kellen now thinks that all helicopters drop Easter Eggs.
The helicopter has been spotted!!!
Collecting some loot!

Watch Out Windows.......you are no longer safe!
Kellen was looking for eggs in Gramma and Papa's yard. There were so many hidden , we are still wondering if they have all been found :)
Sampling his treasure.

Little Gym Graduation
It was graduation day at The Little Gym. Gamma, mommy and daddy came to watch Kellen show-off all of the things he learned this semester.
When we first started he could barely hold onto the bars, what an awesome improvement!
Receiving his participation ribbon.
